New Murabba: A new vision for Riyadh New Murabba is a planned mixed-use real estate development in northwestern Riyadh and easternmost Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. It was announced in February 2023 by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as the world's largest modern downtown project. The project is expected to cost over $48 billion and will be built on a 19-square-kilometer site. It will include over 104,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, 1.4 million square meters of office space, and more than 980,000 square meters of retail space. The project will also feature over 80 entertainment and culture venues, including a new landmark called The Mukaab, which is a giant cube-shaped building that will be the world's largest immersive virtual reality experience. New Murabba is expected to be completed in phases, with the first phase scheduled to open in 2026. The project is expected to be fully completed by 2030.
